Swimming

The boys just finished up a month of swim lessons.  The Boy has taken them many times, but this was the first for the Baby.  He loved the water and floating on his belly.  He was not a huge fan of floating on his back, but he did pretty well if I rested his head on my shoulder.  By the end of last week, he was kicking and paddling his arms.  I think if he didn't feel the need to hold onto me, he would have taken off!
The Boy, well he loves swimming!!  The first day, he jumped off the diving board and swam around in the deep end.  I didn't really learn to swim until I was 8, at least in the deep end.  That was only because a Marine threw me in the water thinking it would be funny.  Boy did he get an earful from my mother after that!!  Needless to say, I was very proud of him.  By the end of his lessons, he was able to swim without any assistance.  He reminded me of a turtle...his head bobbing up and down in the water and he swam.  Too funny!  One day they even got to ride in the canoe.  He was a happy boy after that and told everyone he saw what he got to do in swim that day!

The Boy Turns 4!

Early Monday morning, MLK Jr Day, 4 years ago, we welcomed our first child.  What a life changing experience that was...looking into the face of your little baby!  How in love we both were from the first glance.  He was so little, so precious, so perfect.  Before we even left the delivery room we knew we were in trouble, his little bottom lip stuck out and he began to cry.  It was the sweetest thing.  For the longest time, every time he sneezed he would sigh after.
When we came home, we just looked at one another..."What do we do now?!"  We were now responsible for this tiny human being.  Not just our cat anymore, who wasn't too thrilled to have a baby around.  Soon, we got into a routine and life seemed not so scary anymore.  We could handle this adorable creature.
This past week, I have been looking at pictures from when The Boy was a baby and wonder what happened to those years.  Now we have The Baby and another one on the way.  He has been such a joy in our lives.  He says the most interesting things.  "Shall"  being a favorite! I am always impressed by how quickly he learns and grows.  He never ceases to amaze me.  I know when The Boy grows up he is going to be/do something outstanding.  Happy 4th Birthday to my little guy!  I love you!!!!

New Addiction

I like to think of myself as a somewhat crafty person.  I love to sew, scrapbook, cook, make anything I can from scratch.  A lot of the time, I would look at a finished product I liked and would make something from that without the help of a pattern.  Some things came out great, others not so much.  It is always a learning experience and I love it!
A few months ago, I was introduced to Pintrest.  OH MY GOODNESS!!!  That site is full of crafty people.  I spend way too much time, as I'm sure a lot of us do, browsing the site looking for cute things to make or yummy dishes to try.  I have made a few things already from Pintrest with many many more items waiting to be tackled.  The most I have done is cooking from there.  This week I make all Pintrest meals.  Some were great, others can go back to the web.  One of my favorites from this weeks trials were the Minion cupcakes from Despicable Me.  I made these for The Boy to take to preschool to celebrate his birthday this Saturday.  They were a hit!!!  The kids loved them and The Boy thought they were great!!

I'm really looking forward to getting some more crafty things done from Pintrest.  I have so much fun browsing the site and seeing what all is available out there.  If you haven't checked it out yet, you must.  It is addicting though...just to warn you!
