Carriage Hill

Today was a very busy day.  I had a million things to do and one was to make a grocery run.  After loading the boys in the van, I realized how nice it was out.  It has been a bit chilly these past few weeks so it was nice to have some great weather.  I decided to take the boys out for some fun to one of our favorite farms.  After all, they had been cooped up most of the week and had to deal with my chores for the day...not much fun for a 4 yr old and 19month old.  We headed to a nearby farm where they boys could see how things were done back in the day and LOTS of animals, including a lamb and 6 brand new piglets.  During the warmer months we make many trips to this place.  It will be one I miss once we move.  I asked The Boy if we should take one home and his response, "What?!  A piglet?!  In our house!? I don't think so!!"  He makes me laugh!!! One fun thing we saw, a man was out plowing the fields...using horses and an old plow.  The Boy had a hard time understanding why he didn't just use a tractor.  This is one of the things I love about this farm.  They don't do or use anything modern.
Here we go!!!

The Baby really enjoyed himself.  This was the first time he really got to explore the farm.  He is usually in the stroller.  He talked to all the animals and LOVED the chickens.  He would have talked ones ears off but eventually started chasing them, as did The Boy...one of their favorite things to do.  He was not too much of a fan when the horse came right up to him though.  Every time he heard the rooster crow, he would throw his head back, point up to the rooster, and laugh.  For some reason, it was really funny to him.  I am so glad we stopped for this outing.  The boys, and  myself, had such a great time getting out of the house and doing something fun on such a nice day.  We have been soooo busy with other things it was great to have some fun!  Too bad the General Store was closed...or maybe not.  We will just have to go back on the next perfect day!

Easter

Today was such a fun day. They boys woke up and discovered their Easter baskets. When it was first mentioned to The Boy, he looked out his window Looking for the bunny. The Baby was much more interested in his yogurts in his basket than hunting for eggs, so The Boy was able to find them all!!!
We had a few hunts throughout the day and The Baby never really got the hang of it. Once he discovered they was something inside, he just wanted to open them up. As I would hide eggs for The Boy, The Baby would move them elsewhere. He may not have understood the hunting part, but he had fun in his own way. For dinner, we went to a friends. The boys were able to hung for loads more eggs after we ate. Again, The Baby did his own thing. The Boy was more concerned about what had happened to the bunny and where he was now.
They both had a very fun day spent with their friends. We even were able to get in some adult conversation so I call it a perfect day!! ;)

Easter Egg Dying

Today, we are getting things ready for Easter. We made Easter cookies yesterday and dyed our eggs today, well, The Boy dyed the eggs. We all had to watch because he wanted to do it alone. He did a good job being careful and not getting dye everywhere. The Baby desperately wanted to join in but I would have been a nervous wreck!!! So, he got to watch.

Easter Party

Today was The Boy's Easter Party at school.  What fun was had.  All the kids had a delicious snack of mini Easter basket cupcakes, cheese, and juice boxes.  The Easter Bunny came to their playground while they ate and after they went out to hunt for the eggs with their names on them.  Once everyone found their eggs, they came in to make Easter Bunnies.  The Boy had such a great time and is always excited to show me his friends and all he has done in his classroom.  I am so lucky and grateful I am able to participate in his school.  I know how happy I was to have my parents help and I am glad The Boy is enjoying my being apart of his parties and field trips.  I think The Boys favorite part about the party was coming home to eat some of the goodies found in his eggs.  AND....he even gave some to The Baby!!!!

Young's Dairy Farm

The other day we went to a local dairy farm with some friends.  The boys had a wonderful time feeding the goats and looking at the cows and chickens.  One cow was hanging out by a gate and the boys were not to sure about him.  It was rather funny how hesitant they were and carefully walked around the cow.  After we checked out the animals, we enjoyed a fun lunch then headed over to play Putt-Putt.  The Boy and his friend had sooooo much fun.  They did a great job taking turns and cheering one another on.  The babies sat back and watched...and cheered...and ate.  To top off the day, we headed back to the restaurant for ice cream!!! It was a little cooler out than we had hoped, but it was still a great day!!!
